There are two sides to abortion. When someone says that they are Pro-life that means that support the choice for a woman to A.) Have a baby and keep it B.) Have the baby and give it up for adoption. And when someone says that they are Pro-Choice that means that they support the choice for a woman to A.) Have a baby and keep it B.) Have the baby and give it up for adoption C.) Have an abortion. I my friends am Pro-Choice and I am about to tell you why.
To me being forced to carry a baby to term would make me feel like some evil alien freak was growing inside me. Feeding off of my body, and that some people who don’t even know me think I should have it. They don’t have any idea what my life is like or who I am and what I need, they care more about this thing inside of me than me! That is totally screwed up.  Why should my life that is already in progress be forcibly taken over by people that have no idea who I am? Why is a blob of tissue that has never seen the outside world more important than me?
Forcing a woman to act as an incubator is scary as hell! Its like some people would want women to have kids like she they are supposed to because damn it, they should not be having sex before she is ready to have kids anyway! What the hell is up with that? Why can’t a woman enjoy sex and live her life?  How come men can do this and women can’t?  Without abortion women, even those that take birth control might always be worrying about getting pregnant. It isn’t a duty to be a mother it is a right.  It is a right to choose when you wish to be a mother if you ever want to be one at all!
What if the woman is raped? There are so many things to take into consideration. Incest, lack of medical information, the woman’s emotional trauma, and all those things has to be considered. Why should a woman be hurt twice?  Once by being raped and then a second by being forced to carry the rapist’s child?
Then there is the life of the mother, what if it is in danger because of the pregnancy? Should something that has not even started its life cause someone who has one in progress to stop theirs?  What if the baby is sick or has some birth defect that the parents can’t deal with? Should someone be forced to suffer in the name of life?
Not all women can deal with giving their baby up for adoption, not all women can deal with raising a child, and not all women can deal with abortion. But there are women who can deal with all of those things and each of those is a choice! I support all three and would help any woman that need help under any circumstance to the best that I could.
Your religion is against abortion?  So that is why abortion should be illegal?  Just because of what you believe?  And who are you to say what is right for everyone else?
Stay out of my uterus!

I seriously agree. I'm pro-choice for a few reasons, but one reason, strangely enough, is religious reasons. Controlling someone's body like that by telling them what they can and can't and have to do with it is putting themselves on a god-like level. "I HAVE CONTROL. I HAVE POWER OVER YOU. I WILL DECIDE FOR YOU. THIS IS HOW IT IS. DEAL WITH IT." Anti-choice is thorough arrogance. Same goes for those who are anti-gay marriage.

I had an abortion but before that I felt just like this: Not like myself, desperate, SCARED, and pinned down into a new role I didn't want. And when I came home from the clinic, I felt relieved.
I know so many girls who have become pregnant and then claim they lost the baby naturally. Come on - this is what all these "morals" do to us - they make us lie although we would have made the same choice over and over again would we go back
and therefore: Thank you for being so bold, so honest and so true.

i dont know you but IF was forced to give birth i think i would frinkin go insane for evah, oh fuck i would rather die..... im am NOT emotionally prepared for that seriously...
:icondinacorn:
i completely agree with you, but devil's advocate.
from a pro-lifers point of view, its thousands and thousands and thousands of people being murdered. and just because they aren't directly effected by those murders doesn't mean that they dont want to stop them.

but people are just gonna have abortions anyway, so might as well make it safer for them c:

I don't see how "worrying" about getting pregnant while using alternative birth control or, heaven forbid, condoms can take precedence over a human life. "Stay out of my uterus"? People who try to kill themselves might say "stay out of my death" but we don't do that either.

As for rape, I can't say it any more than I have-- 1%-- ONE-- of all abortions are due to rape pregnancies, 1% are due to incest and 3% to a life-threatening situation for the mother. Hardly a reason to let the other 95% happen just because people don't want to take responsibility for their actions. Also, ADOPTION is another viable alternative.

If you have a problem with religion, have your problem with RELIGION, not a baby who had no say about coming into being in the first place.

People who are not ready to deal with pregnancy emotionally won't be until they are going through it. If you feel like there's a freak in your body, I hate to tell you, but EVERYONE who has been pregnant has felt like that.

Plus you haven't ever been pregnant nor have you ever been raped from what I'm reading. So how do you know that you would feel that way? There have been many reported cases of women who worked through their experience by having the child-- giving it a right to choose its own future in a way her rapist did not.

If you have an issue because you're pro women's rights, backtrack for a minute. Nowhere does it say that all pro-lifers are against women's rights. We're pushing for the rights of people less able to defend themselves than grown women.
